| The
project will identify and publicize successful "whole building"
design approaches that improve the energy efficiency of commercial
buildings. Users of the whole building approach analyze how a
building's components interact to effect its overall performance,
including energy use. By employing this technique, a project team
can design structures in a more energy-efficient and cost-effective
manner.
The actions we are taking to decrease building energy use will save businesses money and reduce the impact of energy generation on global climate change and environment. Currently, thirty two percent of the electricity generated in the U.S. is used to heat, cool, ventilate and light commercial buildings. Advanced Design Studio Fall 2000 University of Texas at Austin
